2024 – Morsano al Tagliamento, Pordenone, Italy – Madrisio Bridge
The Madrisio Bridge, located in the municipality of Morsano al Tagliamento (PN), is a strategic reinforced concrete structure that connects the two banks of the Tagliamento River, facilitating transport between the provinces of Pordenone and Udine. Originally built in the 20th century, the bridge has undergone reconstruction and maintenance works over the years. It consists of 42 spans and features a deck made up of 6 beams supporting the concrete slab.
In preparation for structural repair interventions, Expin was commissioned to carry out an extensive diagnostic campaign to assess the conservation state of the structures (including covermeter and rebound hammer testing, structural surveys, videoscope inspections, and sampling of concrete cores and steel rebars), also supported by laboratory analysis. The campaign was completed with a geometric survey using laser scanning and a dynamic identification test to determine the structure’s vibration modes.
